| In 2006, the U.S. Pro Golf Tour was honored by Jon Bradley of Byron Nelson Interests by allowing the USPGT to institute the Byron Nelson Award. Mr. Bradley's criteria for a deserving player receiving the award was very specific. It should be given to a player who best exemplifies the manner in which the late Byron Nelson played the game of golf; as a true gentleman. The Byron Nelson Award is voted on by USPGT staff, and the inaugural award was presented to Chad Saladin at the season-ending Tour Championship. In 2008, the Byron Nelson Award comes with a cash bonus of $25,000. |
